What the Heck Is This?
Chuckling Cthulhu is a LARP troupe specializing in - but not limited to - Call of Cthulhu live-action events. If you don't know what RPGs are or what LARPing is, this site probably isn't for you... If, however, the idea of battling vast unknowable creatures that, upon close examination, seem to be a little on the home-made side, then this is the troupe for you!

When Does This Happen?
We intend to run at least two events per year - more than that depends upon our schedule. Usually, our games are scheduled between spring and fall, to take advantage of the lovely weather here in San Francisco.

Nifty. How Do I Join?
As each event is planned, this site will feature event-specific pages giving all details about game setting, scheduling, dues and the like.

Game Locale
Unless noted otherwise on the specific event page, all games will be occuring in various neighborhoods of the San Francisco bay area. We run at conventions and we run stand-alone events.

Dues
At conventions, our events are part of the scheduled programming and there is no additional fee.

We charge dues at non-convention events. Dues range from $20 - $40 per person, depending upon the game. All fees must be paid in advance of the game, unless a special arrangement is made with the staff. Keep in mind that the typical budget for a Chuckling Cthulhu event is usually at least $500 for an event accommodating 15 - 20 players. We have to make that back, somehow...

Payments may be made with cash, money order or personal check. We're always willing to consider an 'installment plan' as long as the concerned player contacts us in a timely manner. Sometimes, we will consider barter, depending upon our event's needs, so feel free to contact us - particularly if you have a talent for making tomes, eldritch monsters or a spare lighting rig lying around your house.

Logistics
Unless stated otherwise on the game's description page, Chuckling Cthulhu uses Cthulhu Live!, 2nd edition for all events. Characters are pre-generated ahead of time and, schedule permitting, casting of those characters is performed before game day. Casting is usually handled via flurries of e-mails - it's all very organic, you know...
